VENEZIA (approximately 200 km from Rimini)
To get to know Venice, it’s not sufficient to visit the locations renowned for their artistic value and traditionally linked with tourism, such as St Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal, St Marks’ cathedral and the Rialto Bridge - visitors also have to immerse themselves in its culture: strolling along its narrow streets and across its small squares, one enters a unique world, a magic place to spend unforgettable days, suspended between art and history, and between eastern and western influences. Venice does not only offer art and culture, but also history and eastern fascination: and all contribute to its magic atmosphere, so often recounted by countless poets and writers. Cultural events such as the Biennale, the Film Festival and the famous Venice Carnival are part of the character of this marvellous city. The Venetian lagoon, with its 118 islands, 354 bridges and the gondolas are extraordinary features that no other city in the world can offer to visitors.

BOLOGNA (approximately 110 km from Rimini)
CCapital of the Emilia Romagna region, Bologna is a city that stands where the lowlands and Apennines meet. A key railway, motorway and air route intersection, with expo events of international importance. Bologna is rich in extraordinary works, but its real treasure is the architectural and artistic combination of its urban layout, which is at the origin of its ancient welcoming atmosphere, and is matched by its gourmet tradition and cordial hospitality which have made the city famous throughout the world.

FIRENZE (approximately 160 km from Rimini)
Capital of the Tuscany region, Florence has an exceptional artistic heritage: Cimabue and Giotto, the fathers of Italian painting, lived there, as did Brunelleschi (the Cathedral. San Lorenzo Medici chapel and the Foundling Hospital in Florence), Donatello and Masaccio, founders of the Renaissance and universal geniuses Leonardo da Vinci (Mona Lisa) and Michelangelo (Sistine Chapel in Rome and the David near the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence). Thanks to Dante Alighieri (the Divine Comedy, New Life, Banquet and De Vulgari Eloquentia) Florence was the birthplace of the Italian language; literary studies were established with Petrarch (Canzoniere) and Boccaccio (Decameron); with Machiavelli, modern political science was born and with Galileo, modern experimental science. Right from the days of Charlemagne, Florence was a university town. Nowadays, it hosts numerous specialist institutes and it is an important international cultural centre. The academies, art schools, scientific institutes and cultural centres are key components of the city’s intense activities.
